UK green-lights Huawei for 5G rollout

The UK government has announced that it will work with Chinese telecom giant Huawei in the roll out of 5G wireless technology in the UK. They consider Huawei a “high risk vendor” and are restricting Huawei’s access to core and sensitive areas. The plan’s supporters are reassuring critics that it will not impact the UK’s intelligence-sharing with the US, with whom it forms the “Five Eyes” intelligence alliance, along with New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
